I recently had the opportunity to speak with
BookMarketingBuzzBlog about my writing journey and the inspiration behind my
book East to West Across Russia. It was a chance to reflect on how the
story came together during the coronavirus pandemic and how much of it draws
from my own experiences and observations.
East to West Across Russia
follows a lone traveler, known simply as D, journeying across the country on
the Trans-Siberian Railway from Vladivostok to Moscow. What begins as a
physical journey gradually becomes something more personal. Through the people
he meets and the places he passes, the story explores isolation, romance, and
self-realization. It blends elements of travel writing, fiction, and memoir to
create a reflective and immersive experience.
I have always written in a deeply personal way. I tend to
keep to myself, and writing has become a space where memory and imagination
come together. Each night, I find myself returning to stories, shaping them
from moments I have lived and ideas that continue to grow. It is a quiet
process, but one that means a great deal to me.
